Triple Homicide Investigation Underway in Northland
A devastating incident occurred late Thursday night at a residence in Northland, resulting in the loss of three lives. Authorities have identified the victims as 8-year-old Jeffery Hatcher, 6-year-old Charlotte Hatcher, and 38-year-old Zachary D. Hatcher.
Police officers arrived at the scene around 9:45 p.m. to conduct a welfare check and discovered smoke emanating from the residence. Despite efforts to enter the home, a rapidly spreading fire forced them to call for assistance from the Kansas City Fire Department.
Once the fire was extinguished, officers entered the home to find Jeffery and Charlotte suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, Jeffery was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, while Charlotte succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Zachary was also found with a gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene.
The investigation is currently being treated as a homicide, with authorities focusing on determining the events leading up to the tragic deaths. Police have confirmed that they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
