Fairfield Man Killed in Fatal Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-95 Off-Ramp
A man lost his life early Friday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer while attempting to cross an off-ramp of Interstate 95 in Fairfield.
According to Lt. Aaron Turcotte, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Safety, dispatchers received a call at approximately 3:37 a.m. about a pedestrian being hit by a tractor-trailer near mile marker 132 in Fairfield.
State police troopers arrived at the scene and identified the victim as 49-year-old Mark Michaud, a Fairfield resident. Michaud had reportedly attempted to cross the I-95 off-ramp at Exit 132 when the incident occurred. The tractor-trailer involved was driven by a 19-year-old man from Milford.
