School Teacher Injured in Bourbon Street Attack Seeks Community Support

Laquana Sheppard, a dedicated school teacher and mother, was among those injured in the devastating terror attack on Bourbon Street during New Year’s celebrations in New Orleans.

Her sister, Herbrinisha Sheppard, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Laquana recover from severe injuries sustained in the incident.

“On New Year’s, my sister was part of the Bourbon Street terrorist attack,” Herbrinisha shared. “She’s currently in the hospital, recovering from this traumatic experience.”

The injuries have left Laquana unable to return to her teaching position, a role she holds with immense pride and passion.

“She sustained severe injuries that keep her from returning to work as a loving school teacher,” Herbrinisha explained.

In addition to her professional challenges, Laquana is a devoted mother to a young daughter, making her recovery and financial stability even more urgent.

Herbrinisha emphasized that all funds raised will go directly to Laquana, helping her maintain stability as she navigates this difficult period.

“These funds will assist her in keeping her life somewhat stable through this critical recovery process,” she said.

The campaign calls on the community to contribute by donating or sharing the initiative to raise awareness.

“Please help her out by donating or sharing her information. Everything is greatly appreciated!” Herbrinisha urged.

The GoFundMe campaign is now active, with contributions directly supporting Laquana’s medical expenses and living costs as she works toward recovery.

This tragedy has left many families, including the Sheppards, facing overwhelming challenges. Community support can provide a lifeline for Laquana and others as they heal and rebuild their lives.
