Renowned Water Polo Coach Colleen Lischwe Passes Away

The water polo community is mourning the loss of Colleen Lischwe, a highly respected coach, mentor, and leader in the sport. Lischwe, who served as the head coach of both the men’s and women’s water polo teams at McKendree University, tragically passed away in an accident.

During her tenure at McKendree, Lischwe made history as the only female head coach of a men’s NCAA water polo program. Her leadership and dedication earned her numerous accolades, including the 2017 CWPA Midwest Division Coach of the Year award.

Under Lischwe’s guidance, the McKendree water polo program achieved significant milestones, including multiple All-American honors and record-breaking seasons. Her impact extended beyond the university, as she also coached at Kirkwood High School in St. Louis, Missouri.
